Karate meaning “empty hand” is not a sport that most people consider it to be, but a practice of a lifetime that makes an individual capable of living a disciplined, confident and healthy life.  In today’s world it is important not only to excel but also to remain consistent, which is achieved through systematic physical and mental training. Physical training focuses on building various attributes needed to be a good Martial Artist for example” strength, flexibility, agility, balance, neuromuscular coordination etc which in turn makes the body healthy. Mental training is equally important as it governs and impacts what we perceive and what we make out of it. Mushin no shin – “the mind of no mind”, alternatively “Mushin” translates as no mind wherein Mu – stands for nothing, shin – stands for mind. State of mushin is achieved only after years of dedicated and thorough training as it prepares an individual to handle any situation be it in a situation of self defense or day today life. Our every action is led by intention which in turn develops expectation. Expectations. A mind with no expectation will stay focused and stay in the moment. This state of mind is necessary to achieve results and to ensure that the energy is flowed in the right direction.  An in-depth training dedicated to achieving balance in all aspects of life is what we aim for at Shotokan Karate-Do Mushin Institute.

Shotokan Karate-Do Mushin was founded In 2016 by Sensei Raj Kishan with the sole intention to provide quality karate training to students based on the unique style of Shotokan Karate-Do taught by Late Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa of the Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF), Japan.
